His English is really good and his sense of humour even better. His knowledge of the area and itinerary suggestions worked very well for us. We’d highly recommend the local izakaya 800m from his place.

We were expecting a fine hotel experience for our trip to Nikko but experienced so much more at the Ritz Carlton. Elevated, serene, beautiful facilities and accommodations along with one superlative food experience, made for one of our favorite stays anywhere, ever. Both of our rooms were wonderful, but the suite was just wonderful. All of the food was very good during our stay, but our omakase experience - our favorite sushi ever and one of our favorite meals ever. (For what it's worth, I have never used 'ever' so often in a review) Consistently friendly, helpful staff as well. This is a unique and special place and I fully expect that we'll retreat here again on future trips to Tokyo.

Morino Garden is a hidden gem. We stayed in one of the tatami rooms and enjoyed the comfort. The room has a sink, fridge, and microwave, and the shared toilet is barely a step away. (Shower is downstairs, still quite convenient.) But the real charm of Morino Garden is the host. Yuriko went above and beyond for us, offering rides, luggage storage, and even a meal we hadn’t booked. We felt as if we’d been welcomed into a home—as, indeed, we had.

Amazing authentic cultural and culinary experience with a wonderful attention to detail. Staff is very kind and welcoming, and the language barrier is manageable. Rural location next to a charming river in a beautiful landscape.

Should be quiet after 9 pm. Highly recommended to everyone, especially groups with kids.

The villa has an outdoor fireplace and a hot tub. Everything was absolutely perfect! The villa was spotless, beautifully designed, and fully equipped with thoughtful touches. They even welcomed us with fresh fruits and premium A5 wagyu, which was such a lovely surprise. The BBQ setup had everything we could possibly need from charcoal and safety gloves to multiple types of tongs. The jacuzzi instructions were easy to follow, and the cute bath bombs made the experience extra relaxing. The view was stunning, and the location was very convenient just a short drive from Shinkyo Bridge and other main attractions in Nikko. Truly the best villa I've ever stayed at!

Everything you need for a weekend trip to Nikko is provided and the beds are outstandingly comfortable! Also the surrounding is so quiet, we slept very well. It is also very close to the stations which is convenient.
