We were supposed to go to Tokyo the last 3 days of our holiday, but we where glad that we canceled that, and went to Shikuoka instead! The falls and wasabi fields and hikes nearby were great excursions, and then come back to the villa was a real dream! Also there were no other guests, so we had the whole place for ourselves…. Their local recommendations were spot-on - especially the waterfall, authentic restaurant, and onsen nearby. The bicycle they lent me was perfect for getting around. The outdoor bathing area was a highlight - you can shower and soak while looking up at the stars. There's also a creek you can climb down to (careful though), a hammock for lounging, and a steam sauna (extra charge but worth it). Evenings had ukulele music and good conversations with that comfortable vibe you get when staying with people who genuinely enjoy hosting. Your experience will differ!!

The shared facilities included a bathroom with a tub on the first floor, as well as a small kitchenette on the second floor. The cleanliness was top notch, I have no complaints. The owner was the friendliest ever. He gave me a ride to the Seven Waterfalls of Kawazu and had made coffee for me in the morning, even though I had to leave early to catch a train. I would recommend this accommodation to anyone traveling to Kawazu!
