The property has mountain and garden views, and is 12 km from Tsugaike Kogen Ski Area. The property features a hot tub, free WiFi throughout the property and a 24-hour front desk. The pictures don't do it justice. We were at the two bedroom house and the view, the furnishing and the decorations were breathtaking! Also there's 2.5 baths instead of 2 as advertised. The location is perfect - about 10 minute walk to the restaurants. However what really made our stay so memorable was the service team. They felt like family and were super responsive to every request on WhatsApp. From restaurant and onsen suggestions to helping us book tables. They sent their own car in a snow storm to rescue us from cortina when all taxis cancelled on us. Words can't describe our appreciation and thank you for making our annual family trip so perfect.

Very comfortable and common area allowed group to mingle. Nao and Kimmi were exceptional host and breakfasts were amazing. Nao helped with dinner reservations and with literally everything!

It was cute/quaint and had character! Excellent location, shuttle stops for all the mountains were a five min walk or less, as were the ski rental shop and many restaurants. Loved hanging out in the common room. And most of all we LOVED Taka, he was the best. Such an amazing host. Definitely would stay here again if I came back to Hakuba and definitely would recommend to a friend.

A 10-minute drive from Hakuba Happo-One Winter Ski Resort, Pension Tomato offers spacious Western-style rooms with a loft area. Free WiFi is available at the entire property and guests can reserve a private open-air bath overlooking the forest. A free shuttle is available from JR Hakuba Train Station, which is a 5-minute drive away and must be reserved at time of booking. Forest views are available from the 2nd floor of the accommodation. Love it. Super friendly hosts who helped us a lot, offered to pick us up, take us to hire gear at echoland (with discount at affiliated store), take us to deliver our luggage and send us to the station upon checking out. Booked restaurants for us too since we didn't have a local phone number. Thank you so much! Great accommodation, very cosy and nice atmosphere, vending machine inside, 2 onsen rooms (one of which has an outdoor onsen too, very nice in the snow) which can be used privately by booking each day. Drying room for ski gear is very convenient. Short walking distance (<5 min) to free local bus stop to goryu, happo, iwatake and also to echoland base camp for the hakuba valley shuttle. Buses only run a few each day and finish pretty early, best to not miss the last one as getting a taxi can be a pain! Breakfast needs to be booked by 10am from the previous day, but it's amazing, highly recommended.

If you want to feel the real Japanese life - this is a place to be. Very welcome hosts and kids, best breakfasts. Closest hotel to Escal plaza / ski lifts. Arigato!

Built in 1988, the property includes public bath and open-air bath. The ryokan has a sun terrace and a hot tub. super cozy, clean, very nice free coffee, beautiful hot tub and really friendly staff

Three of us stayed here for 5 days. We had the best time! The accommodation was extremely clean and comfortable with great facilities, including a storage area for all of our ski and snowboard gear. There’s also a bus station right down the street that takes you to Iwatake (which you can then transfer to another bus that takes you to every resort.) The best part were the owners — they were so kind and welcoming even though we did not speak Japanese. They cooked us breakfast and dinner and both were so delicious. We highly recommend and would definitely stay again! Thank you so much for the wonderful stay😁

The chalet has an outdoor fireplace and a hot tub. Lovely and cosy lodge close to the action in Hakuba. All details were perfect. Loved the touch of the illustrated postcards left as a gift for each of our guests!
