The hosts were incredibly helpful and punctual with the check-in. They gave us a map and explained how to reach all the nearby attractions. They also recommended some great places to eat. In the morning, they brought us fresh croissants, and there was aromatic coffee available at all times – what more could you need for a romantic getaway? The ancient city of Meteora isn’t too far, and we had free parking right in front of the property, so we’re more than satisfied. We’d love to visit again! Thank you!

We were excited to stay in a cave/hotel during our trip to Matera and l'Hotel di Pietra did not disappoint! We had a beautiful, large room with jacuzzi and sauna that was breathtaking. The staff was very helpful and the communal breakfast area in the main lobby area was very good as well! The hotel was a few minute walk from a main piazza and the center of town. From the entrance to the property we had a great view of the Duomo and the Sassi. Matera was magical and staying at Pietra complemented our Matera experience.

What a wonderful way to look back and understand the culture of the day (400 BC) in beautiful Matera. MOYΣEION recreates the experience with the design of the hotel, the people, food, pool, furniture, architecture, right down to the dinner plates, cups and cutlery. The staff are all trained in the fields they love - like archaeology and share the journey. They also demonstrate beautiful music using instruments of the day. It's incredible. On top of this, the chef does an amazing modern interpretation of food from 400BC. It is all very cool. It is totally worth going with the flow and fully embracing and immersing yourself in the experience. We did, and we were rewarded for it. Finally, the staff are exceptional. So kind and attentive. They make it perfect.

The room was very tranquil & stylish. Well designed and thought-out (USB ports next to the beds etc). Excellent view from our terrace to the hillside opposite, it was magic at night time. We left our car at Welcome Matera parking for 2 nights (pre - book online). It was a short walk from there. Everything was perfect.

A very comfortable and clean room conveniently situated about ten minutes walk from the train and bus stations. Spacious bathroom and shower. Also very close to the football stadium and the escalators that take you up to the historic centre. The entry codes were sent by phone in good time for my expected arrival time and worked perfectly. Excellent value and I would choose to stay there again without hesitation.
