Beautifully designed, spacious rooms. The automated check-in and check-out makes it very easy to arrive and leave the property any time. There was a coffee machine with capsules in the room, very nice touch. Black outs worked perfectly. The hotel is situated just outside of the main part of Akureyri but if you have a car it’s really not a problem and in exchange the views are amazing. You can park you car right outside at the terrace of each room so it’s very easy to move heavy luggage in and out.

Featuring a hot tub, Bakkakot 3 Cozy Cabin In The Woods is located in Akureyri. A hot tub is available for guests. There is an outdoor fireplace and guests can make use of free WiFi and free private parking. The bungalow was very comfortable and cosy, located in the woods. Fairytale and very romantic place. There is a queen size bed, video option with movies, table and small kitchen inside. The bathroom was enough big. We will recommend for dinner the Eyri restaurant on the lake, only 10 minutes away from the property. It´s a gourmet one (higher price level) but all very tasty with an excellend wine choice. Near Akureyri we will highly recommend also to visit the Forest Lagoon (thermal baths).

We had a wonderful time and experience spending at Svartaborg's cabin. We wish we could stay here a bit longer. It is really easy to checkin and get to the location. We booked 3 cabins. They arranged us stayed closed to each other which is really thoughtful. The cabin kitchen is with everything you need even with a oven. It makes us much easier to cook dinner and breakfast for six of us. The location is perfect. It only takes 30-40mins drive to Húsavík and Mývatn. The cozy cabin with separated bedroom and living room makes us just wanna stay home and enjoy the moments. We arrived at night time, it took us a little time to be able to see the door number but we understand this is to keep the light down to respect the environment. Definitely recommend you stay with Svartaborg :)

After I booked, I found out that the guesthouse offers breakfast during summer months, which was a big bonus. Breakfast had good varieties of choices and yummy. We did not use sauna/hot tub but it looked awesome- having beautiful views.
