Towels and bed linen are offered in the holiday home. The property has an outdoor dining area. The cabin is dreamy. It’s a bit remote, but perfect for disconnecting. It has everything you need, though it’s a good idea to stop by a store before your visit. The jacuzzi and grill are a great addition. The view is incredible. We also went on a short hike to the Heljarfoss waterfall. Also we were lucky – we saw a small whale twice.

The farm stay features family rooms as well as facilities for disabled guests. Skorrahestar is a gem. From the warm greeting by the owners who treat you like family to the excellent beds and showers to the exceptional breakfast (mostly home made from scratch) we had the most wonderful time. You also get full access to the huge and more than well equipped kitchen so you can prepare your own meals. Going riding is a pleasure as well, the horses are well schooled and the surroundings are beautiful. We will definitely go back there next time we're in the East Fjords.

Laugarfell Accommodation & Hot Springs is located in the Eastern Highlands and is at the border of Vatnajökull National Park. From Laugarfell you have access to many hiking trails and you are close to the road leading to Askja. Laugarfell is accessible for all types of vehicles.

There is a shared guest lounge and restaurant. The restaurant offers breakfast, dinner and coffee, cake and snacks. The staff were so friendly and personable. Very clean facilities. The hot pools were amazing, especially after a long day of hiking. Loved the isolated surroundings as well. Very relaxing and secluded.

Each holiday home has wooden interiors and a bathroom with a shower, hairdryer and free toiletries. A sauna, hot tub and yoga mats are also available. We loved the cabin and its surroundings. It's secluded enough to feel isolated, yet a five-minute drive from the grocery store, gas station, etc. It was clean and all the appliances were in perfect working order. We cooked dinner and enjoyed the quiet, relaxing atmosphere.

International dishes are served at Lake Hotel Egilsstadir's in-house restaurant. Guests have access to a communal lounge with a computer and newspapers. Looked brand new in the room. Well appointed and clean.

Hotel Stadarborg is in Breiddalur Valley, next to Road 1 and less than a 1-hour drive from Egilsstadir. It provides modern en-suite rooms, a restaurant, hot tub and sauna are available at an additional charge. The owners and the staff were so friendly. I can only recommend the hotel. Everything was also very clean. The food was really good and fresh. The breakfast was also good and a lot of choice. The thing I loved the most was the kindness of these people.

This guest house provides a shared lounge. This is a new building maybe 10klms off the main road in a very peaceful farmland setting. Our room was very comfortable, breakfast was great, beds were good too.
