I was born in this city and came to visit after many years of living overseas. I can wholeheartedly recommend this hotel to anyone who wishes to experience the city, but particularly to foreigners. The location is superb and well priced for what's on offer; but the main hook of this place is the BREAKFAST BUFFET! Absolutely delicious and AUTHENTIC food that reminded me of what my mother would make when I was a kid. Please try the soup every single day and don't be afraid to ask about the toppings for it (onion,parsley/coriander,toasted bread bits,arepa,etc.) so you can experience the meal as a Colombian would. If you stay here, the INCLUDED breakfast will be an opportunity to explore local cuisine and that's a huge plus in my books.

We have stayed in about 12 hotels whilst in Colombia and this is by far the best. Glorious location, newly built or refurbished, fluffy towels, big rooms, quality breakfast and plumbing that WORKS!! This place feels like heaven! We could not believe our eyes when we walked in. Such a beautiful place! Amazing price for this kind of accomodation. The bathroom was so pretty, the room really big and the garden.. just wooow! We loved having our own little pool!

We started our bikepacking trip in Barichara and loved our one night stay at hotel Encanto. The reception staff were kind and helpful. Our room was cute, cozy and pristine. The hotel is a couple of streets removed from the center which makes for a very quiet location, yet a short walk to town. We parked our bicycles safely in their spacious garage. The breakfast was simple and perfect to start the day. There is a refreshing cold tub on the premises as well.

This is really a unique place with unique friendly and accommodating people. By far the best place we have come across during our long trip in Colombia.

It was by far the best hostal I stayed in during my 2 month backpacking trip through Colombia. Apart from the fantastic location and the extremely friendly and insanely helpful crew, the hostal offered enough space and was sufficiently equipped to, for example, hang up wet things (e.g. towel/swimwear, etc.), store the backpack and clothes well and each bed, had a bedside table with power socket and lamp. Things you learn to appreciate when you´re travel around within the Colombian hostal world. I also really like the fact that there are very friendly notes everywhere to raise ecological awareness. The crew is by far the friendliest I have ever met and responsibly and trustworthily while helping to plan tours in the area and get to know San Gil. All tips and assistance have always been a complete success and was always really economical. Super warm thanks to the great team and the fantastic hostal, which with great attention to detail made the stay in San Gil unforgettable. Many greetings
