Had an amazing stay at this hotel! I've slept in many 5-star hotels around the world, but the service here is truly exceptional. The staff is incredibly friendly, and you're pampered at every location within the hotel. This is definitely a place I'll be returning to. Layalina Hotel has the best location you can imagine, just steps from the beach and from a walking path that takes you past tons of beachfront restaurants and places to have a drink. It is worth every penny to stay here since, besides the perfect location, the hotel is an intimate size, the staff are highly professional and welcoming, the rooms are very large and comfortable, and nothing beats swinging in your own hammock on your patio before taking a bath in your enormous, luxurious jacuzzi bathtub! I was in room 106 downstairs, which was perfect, with a private patio. Three of the downstairs rooms have patios in the public area by the swimming pool (which could get hectic when families are enjoying it), and three are more private like mine. I could see beachgoers walking by my patio, but their view was obscured by greenery, and no one ever looked in my direction. I was right next to the canal, and whatever foul smell people mentioned in the past has been taken care of. All I ever smelled was the sweet scent of the sea.

The host was warm and welcoming— she will get you a taxi, or even cook you dinner if you bring her ingredients. The Villa was clean and in the old Thai style. The pool was clean and a welcome break from the humidity. The weed cafe across the street is a major bonus with yummy home style food, good tunes and the owners are great people. Wonderful experience.
