Amazing location with a sunset view on the first line to the ocean. The public beach (pier) is just 200m away. Inside, the apartment was clean and the host was extremely friendly: provided us with some welcome gifts. There are 3 separate rooms , all with private bathrooms, and big common area + terrace. The village is very quite.

The hotel in Jardim do Mar has apartments with fully equipped kitchens, more suitable for couples or families for 2 or more nights. The room I have is huge with two large beds, a large bathroom and of course the kitchen. The lady at reception is very helpful and friendly and there is also a dinner buffet (excluding drinks) for 20 euros, with a choice of chicken, meat and fish, plus salads and desserts. The location is perfect for those who like to hike. The place seems to have been around for a while, as you can see from the 80s? 90's? deco. There is a cottage-style common room with sofas and a small library. The beautiful footpath PR Vereda Prazeres to Paul do Mar (700m, 1.80km) is right on the hotel grounds and is a great way to visit the small fishing village of Paul do Mar. Unfortunately, the weather was at its worst when I was there, but of the few hours of sunshine I did get, the view from the balcony was simply stunning.

We had room 34 it was perfect. The staff was super nice and gave great advice about driving and hikes. We had dinner in the restaurant which is simple but very tasty. Also, it was easy to find and park and in the village.

We liked literally everything ! The hotel has a variety facilities including an infinity pool, indoor heated pool, sauna, Turkish bath, lots of outdoor lounge seatings. It offers complementary daily shuttle to Funchal and transfers to nearby levada walks. Breakfast was super delicious with many options! Best of all, the people are just amazingly friendly and kind! They went above and beyond to help us! One day we had to miss breakfast for a sunrise hike, the kitchen staff packed us sandwiches, water, fruit juices etc. Do yourself a favor and book a room in this hotel :) I hope we will be back soon!
