Wow, this was the best experience in Sri Lanka for us! The room is decent, clean and good, but the hosts make all the difference. We were invited for the birthday of the hostess’s husband, with cake and their complete family. Such a loving family, and the breakfast was 10/10. Beldon Hotel was a spacious and very modern accomodation which was in a great location - nice and quiet as it was just a short walk up the hill from the bustling main street of Hiriketyia. The staff were lovely and the included breakfast was so delicious (endless options to choose from as well!) The Beldon was a little bit of luxury on our trip to Sri Lanka, would definitely recommend it!

Most of all we had a great time due to the owners, Randima and Lakmini, they are so accommodating and friendly and really made the whole experience of staying in their home such wonderful one. They are both interesting people who are easy to talk with and gave us an insight into Sri Lankan life, politics, food, fauna and so much more! They told us of local events and parades happening, helped with logistics, and assisted us on so many occasions; they truly went above & beyond. Secondly the balcony is superb - it exceeded our expectations and although the lake is small it is brimming with wildlife and you get a great view of it all from the balcony (which is right outside the room). This was like a wildlife safari all in itself! If you’re into bird spotting, this place is a must 🦜 The room was truly huge, clean, spacious, the bed comfy. It is near enough to the main road for easy access but not noisy at all and you and can’t see the main road, while the walk up the track to the house in the dark is lit by fireflies. There are several shops and a good restaurant on the road, and the bus stop is very close for getting to the nearby towns, villages and beach stops.

The property is brand new and offers a very comfortable bed, huge bathroom and a large garden with an outdoor shower, a small kitchen and a nice sitting area. It’s very quiet but still less than five minutes walking to the beach and restaurants. You wake up to the sounds of nature and can observe monkeys from here. The owner is super helpful and friendly. He even brought us fresh coconut to enjoy.

Great family run guesthouse. We had the double room with lovely ocean views and a terrace and little garden. 1 minute walk to the beach and surfing straight out the front. Chirath and his family are great hosts, they have a fabulous garden growing herbs, spices, fruit & vegetables. Breakfasts were very good. Highly recommend.

The hotel looks quite stunning when you arrive and you are greeted by lovely staff. We took the lagoon view room and despite the building being in the mainroad, it was soo quiet and pretty looks. Pool was also on point and staff were always checking it. Bed was really comfortable, room was big enough and also having a mini fridge. Quite convenient location if you have wheels or don’t mind a bit of pickme/riding buses. Breakfast was ok, with lots of toasts.
