At this price point you would expect everything to be pretty much perfect, and it was. From arrival, you barely have to lift a finger, all you have to do is just decide when you would like your dinner and breakfast. from chk-in, the staff take great care of you, walk you through to your room while introducing the facilities, food is of good quality. the room was well maintained with your own little japanese garden. the private onsens were great, with view out to the nearby hills in autumn colours. due to the small scale of the ryokan, the shared onsens turned out to be pretty private too. loved the towels they provide, so much so i bought one to take home. most staff do not speak english, but they have some english briefing notes for foreign guests and most signs are in english/ japanese you don't really feel like you are missing out of on much.

We really enjoyed staying at this hotel. It's close to the railway station and a very nice pizzeria. The staff was very friendly and we appreciated all the information given at reception. When we got to our room, we were greeted by one of the staff who showed us around the room and how to put on the yukatas. The room was superb! We could hear and see the Haya River as we bathed in our private outdoor tub. The water was soft and warm and it was the most relaxing moment I've ever had.

Amazing place ! Just a few steps away from the lake, you can experience a traditional house. The bed and futons were very comfortable, and the tub with natural hot spring water is incredible ! My only regret is notbto have stayed longer !

The house is perfect, private onsen, birds singing, everything spotless clean, coffee, tea, even soup bar and a great welcome present. The rooms are great, the bar and kitchen equipped Perfectu, instruction for everything, washing machine with detergents...it's the best place I have stayed in in Japan. Perfect for families and friends. Just remember that from the bus the climb is a good workout, specially with luggage. We didn't mind and the information about this has been given - we just didn't expect it to be so steep ;) There is parking if you are by car. In winter it's probably not doable both by feet or by normal car ... buy we had great spring time. Thank you ❤️
