Magical Stay at Glacial Glass Cabin, Hella Iceland – A Perfect Retreat in All Weather Tucked away in the raw, cinematic landscapes of South Iceland, the Glacial Glass Cabin near Mt. Hekla offers a front-row seat to nature’s drama. Even with rain, wind, and a dusting of snow, our stay was an unforgettable escape. This beautifully designed cabin features floor-to-ceiling glass windows that make you feel like you’re living inside a moving painting. As the weather shifted — from sun to storm — we stayed cozy inside, watching the clouds roll by, swans glide along the river, and golden light dance across the hills. We sipped coffee from bed, read books, and soaked in the outdoor hot tub with a glass of wine. It was the perfect place to press pause and reset. When Iceland’s unpredictable weather puts a stop to sightseeing, Glacial Glass Cabin becomes the destination in itself. Highly recommended for couples, solo travelers, or anyone craving silence, solitude, and stunning views — all wrapped in Scandinavian comfort.

Loved the two separate bedrooms. We did have a few issues trying to figure out a few things but host was always available. I was not familiar with this type of entry door, learning experience, but to lock it, you have to lift the handle up! If you want to use the hot tub, there are instructions to fill it yourself…another learning experience! Also no instructions on how to use the convection stove/oven…

We stayed 2 nights in June. It was great for access to Landmannalaugar , with a breathtaking view of Hekla. And a hot tub in front of the decking. It is like a mountain hut style accommodation with bunk beds which would suit a family of 4 - modernised to a high standard with some tasteful touches. We loved the flowers in the pot outside. We loved the feeling of isolation with stunning views and particularly like that the owner stopped by to check all was ok and to have a chat.
