Our family of 3 absolutely loved our stay at Ananda Bungalows!! The location could not be better with views of Mt Rinjani and the rice terraces directly from the balcony and easy walking distance to the monkey forest, waterfalls and natural pools. The bungalow itself was practically new, spotlessly clean, spacious and was very comfortably furnished. Best of all was the heartfelt and wonderful hospitality provided by Sum and his family. The meals they cooked were the best we had eaten in all of Indonesia - perfect for vegetarians as well as non-veg! It was a true pleasure speaking with Sum. His knowledge and love of the area made our stay even more enjoyable. Overall a fantastic stay and great value!

The owners here are absolutely lovely people. They really can't do enough to help you and make you feel comfortable. I was delayed by about 3/4 hours and they still allowed me to check in. Not only that, they made me food and gave me a fresh coconut as I'd had a long journey (despite me not asking for anything as it was already past midnight and I was just grateful they stayed up for me to check in). They also set up a washing line for me to dry my clothes. Due to the delay, I had no time to do laundry as I was leaving early the next morning. The homestay is brand new so they are still building certain facilities to make it nicer for their guests. If you're like me and enjoy supporting locals with a new business, staying in a local area, getting to know them and their culture etc. then this place is a great find. If you're looking for a well established luxury stay, probably not.

The best place I’ve stayed in Indonesia! Kunang Kunang is simply amazing: a peaceful and beautiful retreat surrounded by lush rice fields. My bungalow was lovely, with an outdoor shower that turned magical at night – showering under the stars is priceless. The bed was very comfortable, perfect after a full day of adventures. Ida, Ari and Yan were absolutely wonderful during my three-day stay. Ida cooks delicious traditional dishes and, together with them, I experienced unforgettable activities with the locals: from visiting waterfalls and walking through the rice fields to discovering local arts and crafts like coconut oil extraction and bamboo work. It’s such an authentic and genuine experience of the local culture, made even more special by the kindness and hospitality of everyone. Highly recommended! ⭐️
