The Bunker

Your host, Jo Hedges is a keen photographer, avid birder and outdoor enthusiast. She enjoys meeting and accommodating people from all over the world. She has a comprehensive information on the Champagne Valley and can advise the guest on places of interest to visit and which leisure trails or more rigorous hikes to undertake. She also has an extensive knowledge of the birds which occur in the area.

Situated in the foothills of the Central Drakensberg mountains, in the beautiful Champagne Valley, is our totally unique accommodation, The Bunker. The rustic rock exterior of The Bunker, houses the most modern, comfortable and spacious interior. While it sleeps two, arrangements can be made with the host, to accommodate one to two children up to the age of 17, at no extra charge. The Bunker roof, doubles as a deck on which to have breakfast in the morning and later enjoy a drink while watching the sun set over the Champagne Castle and Cathkin Peaks. The kitchen is fully equipped for self-catering accommodation, with a stove, microwave, fridge etc. DSTV, WiFi (1GB free-thereafter load your own data - instructions available) A hair drier, free standing heater, electric blankets and overhead fans provide extra comfort for the discerning guest. There are braai facilities on the patio of The Bunker. Your host is Jo Hedges who, although not on the premises, lives only a phone call away if needed.
