Guests are welcome to amble into the orchard or veg garden, or visit the neighbours' donkeys through the fence. Yellow House is a working farm, and we love giving our guests the experience of what we do here, whether it is almond harvesting, pickling beetroot or foraging for delicious cherry tomatoes or spanspek that grow sweet and healthy in our hot climate. We are keen mountain bikers and adventure motorcyclists and would be happy to join you for a ride, or advise where the best routes are.
住宿信息
Yellow House Prince Albert was previously known as Sommerso Guest Farm.
Yellow House is one of the unique, historical 'dorpsplase' (town farms) of Prince Albert. We farm with almonds and citrus, but we also have other fruit in abundance, such as pomegranates and figs. Our guest accommodation are housed in little vernacular buildings, most of them built around the same time that Thomas Baines was busy constructing the famous and scenic Swartberg Pass. We are situated at the edge of town, a brisk walk from the centre of Prince Albert and all its quaint shops and eateries. Yellow House is perfect for mountain bikers, star gazers and anyone else wanting to enjoy how the sun sets on the majestic mountains and then light a fire in the still of the evening. Our cottages are simply decorated, in true Karoo style, but with quality bedlinen, plushy towels, good coffee and home made rusks. Each cottage has its own braai area and being foodies, we are happy to help you find the best produce the area has to offer.
周边信息
Prince Albert produces some of the best olive oils in the country, and we also have a world-renowned fig farm in the district. The museum is a must, there is a ghost walk you could join and our Showhouse Theatre is simply spectacular, showing movies, but also regularly hosting well-known performing artists. We also have a thriving artists' community, offering beautiful and evocative pieces at our galeries, and of course Prince Albert has established itself as a food destination over the past decade.
