You will stay in the middle of nature, it is still a 10 minute drive from the main entrance gate of the nature reserve, you will probably pass African savannah animals, so no punishment at all. The roads within the reserve are unpaved and adventures and a high clearance or 4x4 car is a big advantage. Low cars might struggle with the higher middle part of the road. If you have a high clearance or 4x4 car, we definitely recommend bringing it. If it rains a lot then the roads become a bit of a challenge (Nov/Dec/Jan / Feb/March and sometimes April), if necessary we are there to help. This FULLY self-catering treetop hut is private, comfortable, quirky and fun. It does not pretend to be a five-star hotel. Please note that we host privately, we do not stock food, drinks, wood or charcoal and it's not possible for us to arrange candlelight dinners and special room set ups. Unfortunately our modest solar system doesn't support toasters, microwave's or hairdryers. We are Martijn and Bernadette, both Dutch, loving life, nature and Zululand. After traveling around and living on two continents we ended up at this perfect spot. We are passionate about living and building off-grid, sustainable and responsible. We are building an earth-bag house, and although its not finished, we do live in it and loving the feel of it. Living in nature and having the wild animals around us every day is a a privilege and we love to share it with people that like to buy into the life style. It is great to be able to share our slice of heaven with people that love being in the outdoors and enjoy an adventures and simple accommodation.
