Milky Lane Cottage is situated on Niekerksfontein Farm. Niekerksfontein Farm is a 1000 hectare working dairy farm milking 800 cows. The farm is on the R622, 18km out of Mooi River.Whether you want to overnight en-route to the coast or inland, explore the numerous attractions of the Midlands Meander, or just to relax and unwind in our tranquil surroundings, come and enjoy the fresh country air and our warm hospitality. Wander in the fields amongst our dairy cows or in the natural veld that is home to Oribi, Reed Buck, Duicker . We have an abundant bird population with Blue Crane, Crested Crane, Gymnogenes, Fish Eagles, Jackal Buzzards, Crested eagles and White Backed Vultures being frequently spotted. There is also a variety of water birds. There are 3 catchment dams and 2 holding dams that are stocked with Bass. The top catchment dam is stocked with trout so you are more than welcome to bring your own rod. For the more adventurous and energetic there are some good mountain bike rides and a more strenuous hike through the gorge up to the small waterfall. Milking and calf feeding takes place twice a day and visitors are more than welcome to watch.

I was a city girl working in a corporate banking environment until I came and joined Craig on the farm. He has been on the farming here for 35 years. We have 5 children children and three grandchildren.

We are 18km from Mooi River which has a Spar, butcheries, Pharmacy and a doctor. We are 30km from Nottingham Road and its amenities. We are close to the Midlands Meander route, within easy reach of the finest restaurants, schools, spas, galleries and wedding venues in the country.
