Ironwood Lodge was established in 1997. Owned and managed by husband and wife, Jim and Caron Keightley. Jim is a carpenter and you can see his craftmanship throughout the lodge i.e. bed headboards combining wrought iron and wood, cupboards, wooden flooring, dining rooms tables and chairs, conference tables, wooden pews/benches in the Chapel. Members of South Coast Tourism and have a 3 star grading from Tourism Guide of South Africa.

Ironwood Lodge is situated in the seaside village of Pennington on the KZN South Coast, South Africa, 45 minutes south of Durban. We offer a relaxed atmosphere created through sincere, friendly hospitality. We will make you feel at home in any of our 9 x spacious, well equipped accommodation with stunning sea views, within 200m walking distance from the beach. Accommodation is offered on a bed and breakfast basis. We also offer business conferencing facilities and have perfect indoor or outdoor venue for weddings and functions.

If you love the beach or the outdoors then there are magical hiking or cycling trails and bird walks through Umdoni Park indigenous forest. Scuba diving off Aliwal Shoal and shark cage diving at Rocky bay is available for the more adventurous
