The guest house is owned and managed by well-known former Nelson Mandela University Choir Director and Music lecturer, Junita Van Dijk, married to famous composer, Dr Peter Louis Van Dijk. Her award- winning choir sang for Pres Nelson Mandela, Queen Elizabeth 11, Archbishop Tutu and accepted special invitations to sing at International Choir festivals in Europe, United States, South America, Philippines and China. After she retired , Junita decided to renovate the previous Kings Beach Backpacker Lodge to its former glory and combine it with the original Conifer Beach House to form a unified guest house, suitable for family visits, smaller tour groups and exclusive social events. Having travelled extensively abroad and in South Africa, Junita loves to assist her guests in planning tours, offering tips of places of interest in order to optimize their experience of the beautiful and diverse country.

Conifer Beach House is a hidden gem closely situated to the popular blue Flag Kings Beach, the beautiful promenade as well as the city's airport. The 15 beautifully renovated en-suite bedrooms of the two charming old world houses are all set apart and totally private with separate entrances and secure parking, which create the ideal layout for the current pandemic. The lush tropical trees create a special atmosphere with fairy-tale garden paths meandering through the property. All the rooms are stylishly decorated in contemporary fashion with walk- in showers and crisp white linen that compliments the original Oregon pine floors. The rooms vary in size and some offer self catering facilities Enjoy our specialty breakfasts in our enlarged dining room or outside on the patio, weather permitting. Conifer lends itself perfectly to accommodate smaller groups of people to stay together, with a private lounge/conference facility and also offers a lovely braai and pool area.
