Although the main attraction is simply to relax - boating, fishing, diving, hiking and walking are also very popular.

Jacobsbaai is a nature lover's paradise. There is a 2km strip of beach and seafront and it is dotted with cosy bays and fascinating rocky outlets. As is the case with the entire West Coast and Namaqualand, Jacobsbaai bursts into colour each spring when the wild flowers bloom. It has been nicknamed "Namaqualand by the Sea" and it is easy to see why. The West Coast has a Mediterranean-type climate, which means that the summer days are long, warm and dry, while the winters are beautifully green. There is no need for travellers to look far for natural attractions, as there is an abundance of flora and fauna in the area including antelope species such as duiker and steenbok as well as a wide variety of bird life. Jacobsbaai is well situated for water sports enthusiasts. Nearby Saldanha Bay is a renowned windsurfing venue, as well as offering yachting from the harbour. The Langebaan Lagoon, in close proximity, is popular for water skiing, jet skiing and paragliding. Although Jacobsbaai doesn't have its own golf courses, travellers wishing to play a round can do so at three courses in about a 15km radius.
