ArendsRus was founded by the Joubert family on the 1st of March 2013. Our goal was to create a South-African country style lodge where our guest can experience proper South-African hospitality in a setting to match and enjoy nature without compromise on quality and style. Therefor you will find, in our wooden rooms a rustic elegance feel with things like Egyptian cotton linen, chocolates and sherry as a welcoming drink. We opened the restaurant on the 15th of December 2013. Our chef who specializes in Traditional South African cuisine cooks the most amazing Sunday lunches. In Sept 2014 we opened the Lodge and got our 3 star grading. Our wedding venue was opened on the 1st of May 2016. We call it the “ArendsRus Barn Yard”. We constantly strive to improve our service as well as to improve our facilities for the best Garden Route experience you will ever have.

ArendsRus offers loadshedding free accommodation by means of Inverters and battery backups. ArendsRus also features 5 en-suite double rooms, 1 honeymoon en-suite room, 1 Luxury Tent and two 2 bedroom Self Catering Cottages. Conveniently situated at the foot of the mighty Outeniqua mountains, ArendsRus peerless kitchen staff is dedicated to serving mouthwatering cuisine in a beautiful, comfortable setting. Throughout the week, a thorough A la carte menu offers enough choice to satisfy even the harshest of critics. To round off the charm, ArendsRus also offers luxurious accommodation, fit for out of town wedding guests, couples seeking a romantic getaway, or simply weary travelers passing through this beautiful corner of the country. The themed chalets are all constructed out of wood, giving it a unique, yet unmistakable charm. It has all the comforts one would expect to have at home, plus a view that can only be described as majestic.

The adjacent forest offers numerous recreational opportunities, including mountain biking, walking trails, bird watching and picnic spot in pockets of indigenous forest and pine plantation.
