We purchased the home in 2004. It was a Bed and Breakfast. I teach private classes in quilting, heirloom sewing, machine embroidery. Dennis does the sewing machine repair. We do all the cooking, cleaning and laundry ourselves. We make sure everything is very clean. The beds all have new mattresses and are very comfy. We get many compliments on the cleanliness and comfortable beds. We do a full breakfast. We do not want you to go away hungry.

We are Golden's Most Prominent Victorian Home. The house was built in 1889 by Judge Staples. He was a Justice of the Peace and a Master Tailor. The second owners of the property come stay with us every year and stay in the bedroom they grew up in. Golden's First Movie Star lived here. She was Judge Staples Niece. She was re doing a scene for the movie, when her horse spooked and threw her into the river. The camera man jumped in to save her and they both drowned. This was filmed on the Arkansas River. Grace McQuen was only 16 years old. The movie was Back to Mexico in 1914. It is a beautiful home with all original wood and flooring. It takes you back in time when you enter the front door.
