The Adamina was created as a comfortable and welcoming place for travelers to experience Fairbanks with genuine Alaskan hospitality. Named after my daughter, it reflects the sense of purpose and personal investment I’ve put into building this veteran-owned business. As the owner and host, my name is Dan, and after nearly a decade in Fairbanks, I’ve come to appreciate the character and rhythm of life in Interior Alaska. My goal is to share that same calm, authentic experience with every guest. Through my work in the tourism and hospitality industry, I’ve built strong connections with the team at Explore Fairbanks at the Morris Thompson Cultural and Visitors Center. Chena Hot Springs, known for its mineral pools and northern lights views, is about a ninety-minute drive away and makes a popular day trip from here. Each private suite includes free high-speed Wi-Fi, a smart TV, coffee and tea setup, a private bathroom, and comfortable bedding. Some suites have been updated with modern finishes in warm wood and matte black tones, while others retain their classic style as renovations continue. All suites are welcoming, quiet, and clean, providing a dependable home base for both short visits and longer stays. Guests also have exclusive access to two large cedar barrel saunas located about twenty minutes away near North Pole, Alaska. The saunas sit on open farmland surrounded by snow in winter, where moose are often seen wandering. Each sauna holds six to eight guests and features a curved viewing window that looks out toward the northern sky, creating a peaceful place to relax and enjoy the view. Away from city lights, it is a perfect spot for aurora watching or simply unwinding under the stars. Whether visiting for adventure, business or relaxation, The Adamina offers a comfortable and authentic Alaskan stay. Our overnight accommodations sit in the Illinois Street historic district, one of the city’s most established and accessible neighborhoods. The area traces its roots back to the early days of Fairbanks and was part of the district redeveloped after the 1967 flood. Guests enjoy a peaceful residential feel while still being within a short walk of downtown restaurants, bars, shops, and cafes. This location also provides easy access to popular sites like Pioneer Park, the Chena River walkway, and the Morris Thompson Cultural and Visitors Center, home to Explore Fairbanks. Their knowledgeable staff can help plan tours, activities, and itineraries both before and during your stay. The University of Alaska Museum of the North, a favorite among visitors and locals alike, is about ten minutes away and offers sweeping views of the Alaska Range. Our location is also convenient for tour and charter departures. Many companies offering aurora viewing, Chena Hot Springs transportation, dog mushing, ATV, and snowmachine tours pick up guests from this part of town, or within a very short walk or drive at nearby downtown hotels. This makes exploring Interior Alaska simple, even without a rental car. The Adamina’s second setting is near North Pole, Alaska, a short distance beyond the well-known Santa Claus House along the same route many visitors take. Our private cedar barrel saunas are set away from city lights among snow-covered fields and spruce trees beneath the wide northern sky. The combination of the large cedar saunas with their curved window ends, the open snowy landscape, and frequent moose sightings creates one of the best local photo opportunities and a peaceful, truly Alaskan experience. On clear nights, guests often enjoy outstanding views of the aurora overhead.
