We love the neighborhood, the restaurants, the beaches, and think there is no better place on earth than the eastern shores of Kauai. Because we live just a block away, we are always available to answer questions, provide recommendations, or address any issues you encounter while you're here. Need space for 11? Finally, please note that the property is located in the Tsunami Evacuation Zone. A map with evacuation procedures is provided in the home. Some visitors ask if the Oceanfront Cottages are air conditioned. The answer is no . . . intentionally. While condos (which may not have cross-ventilation and can trap heat) or inland homes (which do not get fresh air circulating off the ocean) may need air conditioning to be comfortable, this is not true of a home on the ocean with lots of windows. At Oceanfront, you can live in harmony with the natural environment and have a richer connection to the trade winds, the sounds of the waves lapping on the shore, the delicate scent of the ocean air, the feel of the sunshine and the gentle breezes.

Welcome to Oceanfront Harmony, a professionally managed and operated vacation rental located -- as the name says -- on the oceanfront. This 4- bedroom, 3-bathroom historic Hawaiian home is fully equipped with large kitchen, living room, decks, and "al fresco" lanai/dining room, offering plenty of space for friends and family. Sleeps 7 comfortably. Enjoy gorgeous ocean views and stunning sunrises/sunsets while living like a local within a charming Kauai neighborhood. Fuji Beach (aka Baby's Beach) for gentle swimming is right outside the front door, and some of the best beaches on the island are just a short walk or bike ride away. You'll have easy access by hopping on the 7-mile bike path that runs along Kauai's eastern "coconut coast" just in front of the home. Located minutes away from historic Kapa'a town with plenty of shopping and restaurant options. Also convenient to both the north and south shores of Kauai, the Wailua river (waterfalls and kayaking!), and all the breathtaking scenery the island has to offer. Comes fully equipped with all the comforts of home....plus the sound of the ocean waves to soothe you to sleep. The "cabana" next to the water provides a great covered area for lounging, dining, reading, grilling, doing yoga or just hanging out. Internet connectivity is great. We also have a variety of beach equipment for you to use, including towels, beach chairs, boogie boards, snorkel gear, yoga mats, a cooler and an umbrella. At Oceanfront, we are committed to supporting our local community. We provide our guests with a gift basket with locally made treats such as coffee from our local roaster and honey from our local beekeeper! We also believe in sharing with the community and donate a % of our proceeds to local non-profit organizations helping the people and place of Kauai. The charming town of Kapa'a is on the east side of Kauai, "in the center of everything," midway between the south shore (where you'll experience the beauty of the Poipu area) and the north shore (visit breathtaking Hanalei, Princeville and the Na Pali Coast). This is a great home base for exploring the entire island. Kapa'a is an amazing destination in and of itself: it is home to multiple restaurants, food trucks (very popular in Kauai), coffee houses, galleries, shops, and a charming "main street" that hosts a family friendly and fun festival on the first Saturday of the month. The bike path runs through Kapa'a, providing easy access to town, the beaches and gorgeous views of the ocean. Walk, bike, jog or stroll along the path, getting phenomenal exercise and partaking in the true sense of community of our friendly and eclectic neighborhood. Baby's Beach is right outside your door, given the whole family a convenient place to spend the afternoon or jump into the ocean for a quick dip. The two Oceanfront Cottages are located in a quiet residential neighborhood, away from the tourists. That's why we say you'll "live like a local" at our homes and feel part of our community which embodies the aloha spirit.
