We (Mike and Deanna) started welcoming guests to Gathering Place Resort & Lodge in June 2020. We continue to build quality accommodations, a friendly resort atmosphere and a legacy of outstanding customer service. Our mission is to create an environment in the tranquility of the Northern Wisconsin outdoors where families and friends can gather and build memories.

Check out the 100 miles of Washburn County’s ATV trails with multiple loops linking the Tuscobia State and Wild Rivers trails. Park and unload at Mama Roppe's in Birchwood but don’t miss enjoying Mama's cookin'! Head out on the hiking trails at Hunt Hill Audubon Sanctuary just 20 minutes north of the resort. Explore the regional golf courses such as Spooner Golf or Butternut Hills. Financed by lumber baron Frank Stout and inspired by Scotland's St. Andrews Course, Tagalong Golf Course must be played to be appreciated. Try the Wildcat Trail with your fat tire bike or mountain bike. The trail head is 4 Miles East of Spooner, on Highway 70, with parking on south side of the highway. The Wisconsin Canoe Heritage Museum in Spooner is home to a variety of antique and historic canoes. The Canoe Shop is a 2,500 square foot, state of the art facility designed to celebrate the rich legacy of canoe craft while inspiring and educating a new generation of builders. Trains played a large role in northern Wisconsin’s history. There’s no better way to experience the beautiful north woods of Wisconsin than by taking a scenic train ride with The Wisconsin Great Northern Railroad out of Trego. The Potter's Shed in Shell Lake is a 50,000 ft creative compound with an art gallery and old world garden with ponds and waterfalls. A "hands on" area gives visitors young and old a chance to decorate their own pottery or make their own wood sign. Fiery Raku pottery is available on fri and sat throughout the summer. And don’t miss the Spooner Farmers Market or the Farmers Market at Perlick Distillery. Stop at Cookin' Up A Storm for brunch or fresh baked goods. Enjoy the local banter at Maxine’s while enjoying a hearty breakfast. If you want to stay closer, try out Cedar Lake Grill in Mikana. Enjoy the laid back, romantic wine bar called The Creamery in Haugen. Or treat your date to a Wisconsin tradition at Lehman’s Supper Club.
