Jim Masek and Russell Knight are the new innkeepers of the Carrier Houses B&B as of May 2017 along with Watson and Ranger, their rescue dogs and resident greeters. Jim and Russell moved from Columbia, SC where Jim has worked in the hospitality field for over 10 years as such hotels as DoubleTree by Hilton, Embassy Suites by Hilton, Clarion Hotel and various limited service hotels such as Days Inn, Sleep Inn and Country Inn & Suites. Jim loves to cook and be creative in the kitchen using local ingredients and sharing the “Farm to Table” experience with the guests. Russell has worked for the SC Dept of Education in Grants Administration as well as running a non-profit in Columbia. Russell loves to chat with the guests at breakfast to help them plan their day.

The Carrier Houses B&B consists of 2 historic homes, both listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The Carrier-McBrayer house was built by Harvey Carrier in 1835 and the Carrier-Ward House, in 1879. There is a total of (8) bedrooms, all with private baths, individually controlled thermostats, Wi-Fi, flat screen TVs with cable and deluxe amenities. You’ll find complimentary coffees and teas all day along with fresh baked cookies. Relax on the wide, front porch in our comfy rockers to watch the comings and goings of small town NC. Nothing beats being on Main Street. There are quaint shops and great restaurant within walking distance. Lake Lure, Chimney Rock, the Tryon Equestrian Center and the Blue Ridge mountains are just a short drive, let us help you plan your trip.
