Hostel Škrla is a family-run hostel and a perfect choice for active travelers who wish to wander off the beaten path to explore the hidden gems of Slovenian countryside while staying on a budget. Housed in an authentic 17th century farmhouse, it offers four- and six-bed dorms as well as a double room. All rooms come with a private bathroom, with bed linen and towels included in the price. To keep your valuables secure when you are out and about, security lockers are available in the dorms. Facilities also include free WiFi all throughout the hostel, a fully equipped guest kitchen for when you get hungry, and an onsite bar with outdoor seating area where you can enjoy the sunshine, sipping your morning cappuccino and sharing stories with fellow travelers. And to get you fully ready for the exciting day ahead, we offer a buffet continental breakfast for a small fee.

The hostel is located in the heart of the Škocjan Caves Regional Park and literally just steps away from the UNESCO-listed Škocjan Caves. The area offers numerous possibilities for active types and nature lovers. It hosts some of the best rock-climbing spots Slovenia has to offer, with popular venues such as Osp, Črni Kal and Mišja Peč just a short drive away. Hostel Škrla is also close to various hiking and biking trails. And if you are looking for some sightseeing opportunities, you can visit the nearby city of Trieste, admire the Lipizzaner horses at the Lipica Stud Farm or even head to the Slovenian coast and explore the picturesque streets of Piran.
