Eskebo

Nylyckan translates to new happiness, and in 2006 we, Edo and Nanda, found just that in Sweden. What started as our country house, became in 2010 our permanent home as we emigrated with our two children and horses to Sweden from the Netherlands. After familiarising ourselves with the culture and life of the country, we now feel more Swedish than Dutch. We have fallen in love with the old Swedish log houses and, being a contractor and builder, we have had the wonderful opportunity to preserve some of these beautiful houses. Over the years we totally renovated the existing houses on our farm and rebuild a large log cabin from the 18th century. Ever since 2017 the log cabins are open to guests. Hosting people on our farm is a wonderful thing to do because people are happy as they are on holiday and are excited about the log cabin. Even as hosting people often means a lot of work we feel we are on holiday ourselves. We love to share our amazing place with you.

In the picturesque forests and lakes surrounding the small town of Torestorp lies our farm Nylyckan. Hidden away in the woods, where the deer still frequent the gardens, our authentic Old Swedish log cabins create the perfect environment to come to rest and unwind.Our cabin Eskebo has a capacity of 8 guests. This house is over 200 years old and has been totally renovated by Edo. The cabin has a nostalgic old-Swedish appearance with a warm and cosy interior intended to make guests instantly feel at home. The house has a spacious living room and kitchen, 4 bedrooms and a restroom. Eskebo has free wifi ( 5G) and a google chrome cast box. Private shower in a separate building ( after 18 december 2020 Eskebo will have a bathroom in the house). At the front of the house lies a campfire site, suited for grilling or late-night bonfires.

Because our farm lies in the forests about 1 kilometer from the main road it is the perfect place to enjoy rest, nature and unwind. You can go swimming in lake Sandsjön nearby with its sandy beach, or rent a Canadian canoe or motorboat at our own boat rental and spent a day on one of the many lakes in the neighborhood. Check out Hyltenäskulle, with its great view over the whole area or the old sawmill that still runs on water in Öxabäck. When you don't feel like cooking you can order a good pizza from the Torestorp Pizzeria just a 5 minute drive away. Within an hour drive you can visit beautiful Gothenburg with its theme park Liseberg, its nice restaurants and many museums, or check out the west coast in Varberg with its cosy harbor and impressive 13th century fortress along the coast line. With the International airport Gothenburg Landvetter just a 45 minutes drive away Lillstugan is very suitable even for short visits from abroad
