Who am I? I am Adelino Catanho, the grandson of Adelino and Conceição. I used to be a traveler, so it is always with pleasure, that I offer myself to give assistance to our guests, so that you have a great stay! You can count on me or/ and my parents from the very beginning, from when you are planning your trip or the moment we first meet in person. I value your privacy immensely, but don´t hesitate to contact me in case there´s something you would like me to help you with. I will gladly give you my suggestions (on events, places, activities, etc) and/ or guide you to some places (depending on availability and it's free)so that you enjoy Madeira to the fullest.

Welcome to Villa Catanho, a family owned villa, located in a traditional grape vine and banana plantation. A beautiful heritage of my beloved grandparents, Adelino Catanho Silva and Conceição Pereira Catanho, in Quinta da Boa Vista, Funchal. It was in homage to our grandparents that we decided to maintain the plantation and build the villa. Villa Catanho has been in the family since 1977. They worked the land, that is, they grew bananas and grapes and produced wine. The harvesting of the grapes was an occasion when the Catanho family gathered. Grandparents, parents Catanho and the two of us, the “kids” picked up the grapes, and took them to the winery, where the grapes are still trodden by our feet. The house is fully furnished and equipped. Ideal for that perfect self-catering holiday. Towels and bed linen are included ( free of charge).

The charming villa is well located. There is a bakery / café and a grocery store just around the corner, and within walking distance of restaurants, shops and local attractions. Villa Catanho is located in the parish of Santa Maria Maior, which is a great choice for travellers interested in hiking, great food, relaxation, mingling with the locals in the city centre, in the Farmer´s Market or/and along the promenade by the seaside: Farmer´s Market (1 km) , the Old Town, Madeira Story Centre (museum) (1 km), Funchal Cathedral (1.1 km), The Madeira cable car (1.1 km), Madeira Botanical Garden (900 m), just to mention a few.
