Hi, My name is Helen and I will be your host at Miradouro da Papalva. I am born and raised Canadian with a strong Azorean heritage. I love to make your stay as pleasurable and memorable as possible and believe me when I say you will have a vacation experience like no other.

Miradouro da Papalva is a unique Guest house with beautiful views of the ocean from a hilltop where you can embrace 180º angle scenery directly over the ocean, while still looking over to the majestic mountain of Pico which is always breathtaking. A housewarming and personal service you receive while you enjoy a complete continental breakfast served in another unique atmosphere which will just take your breath away. Our Suites are also very spacious with a private bathroom and each one has a view of the sea and or the Pico mountain.

We are located in the town of Sao Joao8 (St. John) situated 8km from the whale village of Lajes do Pico. In Lajes do Pico you can booking your whale watching tours, and believe me when I say it is the best place in the Azores for Whale watching. In the town of Sao Joao we are very close to our Café Silva where you can enjoy a nice refreshment and receive the warm hospitality of the locals for which Pico is also known for. Come enjoy other nature activities such as enjoying the beautiful green sceneries, walking trails or climb the beautiful mountain of Pico. In the evening enjoy a nice dinner at some of our restaurants and try our traditional gastronomy. Pico is an adventure but there are no words to describe it, you just have to LIVE IT
