According to Peruvian tax regulations, Peruvian citizens (and foreigners staying more than 59 days in Peru) must pay 18% sales tax. To be exempt from paying the 18% sales tax, guests must present a copy of their immigration card and passport. This tax applies to rooms shared by guests who are required to pay sales tax and guests who are exempt from paying sales tax. Foreign business travelers who request a printed invoice will also be charged 18% sales tax, regardless of the length of their stay in Peru. This tax is not automatically included in the total amount of the reservation.
