The guest suite provided has its own external access. The suite is on the lower floor of the property and does not share any common areas with the hosts on that level. Common area facilities are up the internal staircase to access a deck with marina views, BBQ facilities and a dining table.
The guest suite itself features a comfortable Queen bed, Coffee/Tea, Small refrigerator, microwave, plates/cutlery/glasses for 4, internet TV with guest internet access, and a seating area. Red light headlamps are also provided for guests that want to venture out kiwi spotting after dark.
While the room is marketed to couples, the in room sofa does fold out to a sofa bed if this was absolutely required. Please inquire before booking if this is desired as additional charges may apply for incremental bedding/cleaning.
Mike and Leanne have a friendly dog called Marley. He stays upstairs but does like meeting and interacting with guests if they venture upstairs to enjoy the deck. Many guests have already joined Marley on his morning walks or evening romp on the beach. Others have arranged to bring their own dog for a night or two.
Leanne and Mike relocated to the area from Australia during 2024. In their mid-50's they wanted to live in a peaceful location near the sea to pursue new adventures. They are happy to leave you to your own devices or to engage and provide advice and directions as able.
Mike is pretty handy on the meals front so it may be possible to arrange some meals for a fee depending upon the schedules of both parties.
The home is set on a peaceful 'finger' peninsula that protrudes into the Kerikeri inlet. It is a quiet street that has native bush on both sides of the street running down to to the water. It is home to much bird life including kiwis, owls and Tui's. Red light headlamps are provided for guests to go kiwi spotting after dark.
For those seeking time in nature, this is an ideal property with easy access to a variety of walks. The townships of Kerikeri and Waipapa are 12-15mins drive away.
