I came to Kaikoura when I was eighteen years old as I have many extended family members in Kaikoura and purchased this property seven years later. I am married to a wonderful man and we have three fantastic boys who enjoy hunting and fishing and most outdoor pursuits. The apartment and the cottage have become a fun and fulfilling project that we have put a lot of time and energy into making the perfect holiday place. We hope you will come to our quaint town in this amazing part of this beautiful country.
We are on the edge of the Kaikoura Peninsula, high above the township. We are among the walking tracks, right outside your front door. Summer-bare or plastered with winter’s snowy coat, Mount Fyffe and the Seaward Kaikoura Range dominate the Kaikoura skyline. They provide recreation opportunities ranging from a family stroll to a serious backcountry hike.
We are adjoining a Maori Pa, a large piece of land that once was a sort of fort: Ngā Niho pā on the Kaikōura Peninsula is thought to have been built during the 1820s when the people of Ngāti Toa, waged war against Ngāi Tahu. From the pā, enemy canoes could be seen approaching along the coast.
