Oamaru -a town of approx 14,500 has something to offer for everyone! We are considered the Steam Punk capital of the world. The Victorian Precinct offers a look into the buildings of early Oamaru. We have Blue Eyed Penguins and seals at the Harbour along with the Geopark elephant Rocks and the Fossil Centre at Duntroon - both of which are an easy drive there and back. The Waitaki Valley - home to 3 Hydro Dams is also an interesting scenic drive and heading south there are the Moeraki Boulders to view!
