Westport has lovely retail shopping, a movie theatre, an excellent historical museum and informative I-Site Perfectly located to enjoy all the region has to offer from the Seal colony and lighthouse walk to the infamous surf beach at Tauranga Bay. Easy day trips in the area include Punakaiki Rocks, Oparara Arches, and the Denniston Plateau. And within easy reach of 3 tramping / mountain bike tracks, The Paparoa Track, Heaphy Track and The Old Ghost Road
