The Abel Tasman National Park is world renowned for its golden beaches and blue-green waters
The Mueller family immigrated from Germany in 1989 making NZ their new home. Since 1990 located in Marahau and very happy on a great life style property, with views to the ever changing ocean. It was easy to create the Buena Vista Apartments, which hosted many guests since 1997.
We aim to make our guests feel at home away from home. As the apartments invite to settle down and stay a while. Marahau, the Abel National Park and the surrounding area is interesting enough to plan more than a 1 night stay. With a short drive to Golden Bay, a day trip to Farewell Spit and returning to Buena Vista for another lovely evening looking at the ocean and later on at the stars. There are music nights at the Park Cafe every Thursday, and some weekends, which can make your trip entertaining on another level. We can book your excursions, give you advise on which companies to choose and are happy to help where we can.
The Abel Tasman Coastal Track is classified as one of New Zealand's Great Walks - it is lovely as it drops down into inviting golden bays, ideal for a swim after a few hours walking.
You can hire a water taxi or take a cruise to see more of the Abel Tasman's coastline (look out for New Zealand fur seals, penguins, bird life and if you're lucky dolphins & orca along the way) or visit the marine reserve.
Or hire a kayak (either guided or free touring), go paddle boarding, try kite surfing, or enjoy a horse ride along the beach.
There are local cafés in Marahau so stop for a cup of coffee, a glass of wine or something to eat.
