Ātahu (Means charm/spell)
Titahi Bay has the Porirua Harbour on one side and the Cook Strait on the other. You will find a Bay with a beachfront shaped like a crescent, featuring rocky headlands, Mana Island and its amazing sunsets, iconic boat sheds, geological rock formations millions of years old and remnants of petrified wood where once stood a forest. As you stroll along the beach you see the mark of the legendry Taniwha, and be delighted to get a hint of our world-famous Whittaker’s Chocolate in the process of manufacture.
Ãtahu is a new build embracing the full panorama of this Bay, capturing all day sun and the landscape of the Marlborough Sounds of the South Island. Enjoy our succulent and rock gardens, and long deck that counter levers over the gardens where you can sit and dangle your legs if you so desire, relax and take in the full essence of our home by the sea.
We are only 20 minutes from Capital City, Wellington, and 5 mins from Porirua City that hold a feast of other opportunities.
Raewynne's background has been in education and business project management, coupled with Nursing. It is from this experience Ātahu was built by the sea, where the sound of the surf can be heard, sea salt lingers in the air, and the design of the house embraces the full view of the bay and sun. Titahi Bay has a rugged landscape, beach and weather, and the sea never fails to disappoint with its changing mood, and production of interesting ocean micro-ecosystems.
Our objective is to welcome guests into our home to share this environment.
High standards of hygiene and safety are paramount, and every endeavour has been made to ensure our guests have a unique experience with an emphasis on emersion into our local culture. Care has been taken to ensure comfort, with high-quality furnishings, top of the range bedding and some well-deserved pampering. We aim to tailor stays to help guests come away feeling rested, and revitalised in some way from this experience.
We will endeavour to go the extra mile to achieve this service.
