Trollbu Aabrekk gard

Your hostess is Signe. She has been renting out cottages since 1995. She runs the restaurant on the farm, and bakes traditional food. The building that houses the reception area and the restaurant, is built on the old barn walls from 1895. The new building was completed in 2005. Signe is a gentle and welcoming hostess, who wants the best for the guest.

On Aabrekk gard(farm), in the beautiful valley of Oldedalen, there are three cottages for rent. The cabins are close to the Briksdals Glacier, you can drive there in only a few minutes with car. There are two cabins for rent, and in the last cabin there is one apartment for rent on the ground floor and on apartment the first floor. They have seperate entrance. The cottages are situated close to a river. The cabins offer a nice view of the Melkevoll Glacier and Brenndalen. Cabins # 1 is Trollbu. It was built in 1992. The cabin can house up to 4 persons. The cabin has livingroom and kitchen in a open solution. The bedrooms are on a loft on the second floor, one with a doublebed and one with open solutin with two single beds. Own bathroom that was brand new in 2023. The cabin is renovated in 2023. Cabin # 2 is Volja. This is originally a traditional Nordfjord building, which was moved from Rake in 1995. It is originally from approx. 1850. The cabin can house up to 8 persons. The cabin has 3 bedrooms, on the second floor. The kitchen, livingroom and own bathroom (renovated in 2023) is on the ground floor. Apartment # 3 is Momestova. It is originally listed approx. 1760. In this cabin, on the ground floor is a apartment with 3 bedrooms, kitchen, livingroom and own bathroom (renovated in 2023). The apartment can house up to 6 persons. Own entrance. Apartment # 4 is to the rear of the cabin and on the first floor. The apartment has it's own entrance. The bathroom and the floor was renovated in 2023. There are two large rooms with a hall between then. There is two double bed in one room. There will be a small kitchen area and a sofa with TV before the season 2024. Pictures will come. Final cleaning, sheets and towels are included in the price for both the cabins and the apartments. Cars can be parked directly outside the cabins, or in the parking lot. The reception and a restaurant are in the same building, and it is located on the farm, 300 meters from the cabins.

From the cabins you can take an easy hike to Brenndalen, and from the magnificent viewpoint you can look down upon the valley, Oldedalen or towards the Brenndal Glacier. You can also countiniue the hike along the valley Brenndalen, towards the Brenndal Glacier. The valley Briksdalen is situated approx. 2 km from the cabins. From Briksdalsbre Mountain Lodge you can either walk by foot up towards the Briksdal Glacier, or book transport by Troll Car. There are good hiking opportunities in the area. Some well-known tours are Kattanakken, Oldeskaret and Flatsteinbu. In Lake Oldevatnet it is possible to go fishing, and fishing licenses can be purchased at campsites along Lake Oldevatnet.
