Grønland / Tøyen is an up and coming neighbourhood in Oslo with lots happening. Staying here is about as close as you can get to the city center while still getting a neighbourhood feeling. Young and vibrant with cultures from all over the world. If you were to compare it to New York it would be Williamsburg or Bushwick, but in the middle of the city! People love Grønland for The Botanical Gardens, the many curry places, its vibrant grocery stores, lovely coffee shops and the bustling street life. Street parking is readily available for about 25 USD per day (and half that price for EV's!). The area has plenty of underground parking lots as well (at least 2 of them are less than 3 minutes to walk from the apartment), so finding a place to park is easy. Walking to Grønland subway stop will take you around 5 minutes. All lines connect there. Walking to the city center takes around 10 minutes, depending on exactly where you're going and your pace. The train station is also a 10-15 minute walk. Renting city bikes is the best way to get around Oslo. Day and week passes are available and there are several hubs nearby the apartment.
