住宿信息
Lillevik is a comfortable, cozy and completely remodelled vacation home in a fantastic location on Gimsøy in the Lofoten islands – in the arctic.
Lillevik is the perfect base for exploring the Lofoten islands – it is quiet, but central: Gimsøy is «in the middle» of Lofoten, between local towns Svolvær and Leknes, with most sights and activities just a short drive away. Gimsøy is an island, connected to the main road E10 runs with two bridges.
The house was built in the 1960’s and has gone through an extensive two-year remodelling in 2018 to 2020. In practice, the house has been completely rebuilt. The original atmosphere is preserved, updated to modern standards. The kitchen is fully equipped with top of the line appliances, the bathrooms are modern and comfortable, and all beds are of good quality. Please see the reviews to see why Lillevik is so popular.
The Lofoten islands cover a large area, and exploring Lofoten does requires some local traveling. Use Lillevik as your base and your home away from home: Spend your time exploring Lofoten, not moving in and out of houses.
Spend some days at Lillevik, you'll be happy you did!
PS. We have now installed an electric car charger available for our guests.
周边信息
Gimsøya has superb conditions for watching the northern lights and the midnight sun: There is open sea towards north, and nothing to block the view – and no light pollution. Lillevik's large panorama windows give a great view of the northern lights and the midnight sun – and also sea eagles, seals, otter, porpoises (dolphins), foxes, owls and maybe a weasel.
Gimsøy, and especially this part, is exceptionally quiet, even for Lofoten. Less than 200 people live at Gimsøy, and a large part of the island is a nature reserve. There are hardly any cars driving on the road past the house – no need to worry about traffic. The house’s plot is 92,000 square meters (23 acres), and the private beach is just 100 meters from the house.
Everything you need is nearby: Local towns Henningsvær, Svolvær and Leknes are a 30-40 minute drive away. It's 7 kilometers (4 miles) to Gimsøy Landhandel with groceries, café and gas station, 1.5 km to the long, white sandy beach at Hov. Unstad (50 min), Uttakleiv (1h15), Nusfjord (1h15) and Reine (1h50) is within easy driving distance. It's a 30 minute hike up to the summit of the mountain Hoven (368 m) with an impressive 360° view.
