Marna and Arjen have owned the house since 2009. It was the posibility for a workplace in the bacement. There Arjen has his workshop where he restores Read Organs. (He wil happily show you arround if you would like a peek). We also fell in love with the rest of the house and the stoning view!
With its 8 bedrooms, it is far to big for two people unless we have family visiting. Therefor when we do`nt have privat guests we open for people looking for a place to stay for a night or more.
We ourselves live on the 1st floor with our cat Sotnos. On 2nd and 3rd floor is our guest accommodation. Appart from the bed-room our guests share facilities as living-rooms, guest kitchenette, outdoor sitting areas and 2,5 bathrooms.

The Green Guest House in Herand is the perfect spot for exploring the Hardanger Fjord area! With panoramic wiev over the fjord, and close to mountain hikes you are in the midle of the best scenery Norway has to offer. We are located at the bottom of mount Samlen with "Hardanger trappa" The upcomming "must visit".
We serve breakfast to be ordered at latest the evening before in the largest of our two livingrooms, but you are free to prepare your own breakfast or an easy dinner in our guest kitchen on 3rd floor. The house is from 1952, and we have tried to keep the style and atmosphere. It is an old house, and the floors and doors wil squeek. Pleace notice the house rouls. We welcome you to Herand and our house for a relaxing and refreshing stay!
Neighbourhood information
If we start with the closest, it would be the scenery, the harbour and the litle beach. From may - august the restaurant Meieriet is a must to visite. (Closed mondays)The local grocery is a couple hundred meters away, and is open from 07.00 - 23.00. When it comes to hikes we have Mount Samlen for a more challanging climb, and Kulturstien (Cultural Path), for an easyer option (1,5 hours).
