Cozy old log cabin on Nystølsfjellet which is located almost 1000 masl.
Quick Facts
This is a traditional log cabin with simple facilities. Electricity comes from solar panels, water is cold only (hot water must be heated manually), there is no fridge (a cool cellar is used), and heating is done with wood. The shower uses a manual hand-pump system.
The cottage is secluded with only one cottage on the other side of the embankment. There are great hiking trails in the immediate vicinity both in summer, autumn and winter.
This is a cozy cottage with a solar system, wood burning and gas. There are 2 bedrooms plus a loft.
On one side of the cabin you look up towards Nystølsfjellet and on the other over towards Storefjell.
Other things to note:
The cabin does not have electricity, but a solar cell system. It is important to know that the amount of power you have access to is limited, but it works well for charging mobile phones, lights in the evening and some TV watching.
Cold water is installed, and to get hot water, this must be heated on the stove. You have a kettle standing on the stove at all times, and you just have to make sure that it is full.
Gas is used for the hob and oven, and you have to wash up by hand.
There is 800m private road up to the cottage. In winter, this road is not snow plowed, and you must either go by skies or arrange transport with the host (ATV with belts).
There are limited TV channels, but it is possible to use chromecast.
We are available by phone if needed. Checkin and checkout must be arranged with the host.
