We are the Wilgenburg family, and since August 2023 we have been living in beautiful Koudekerke. It has been quite a journey to end up here. Originally, Bart and Simone are from Hilversum. When they were dating, Simone told Bart that she wanted to live by the sea one day. Bart agreed. A year or so later, Faas was born, and we started fantasising about starting something, like a B&B or a boutique hotel. Because you can't fight your nature, and we were convinced that we could do something like that. Our family was complete with the birth of Luut. When Luut turned one, we said, if we want to do something, we have to do it NOW, because the children are only getting older and older. Okay, where are we going to look? Zeeland? Belgium? Germany? Austria? Italy? Belgium? The coast of Zeeland appealed to us more. Austria? Italy? Too far away. (Bart is a twin ;)) Zeeland? Nice, let's take a look! But it has to be the municipality of Veere, and there is only one cottage available, next to your own main residence. Germany? Yes, especially the Harz (low mountain range). The two lines ran parallel for a long time. We travelled back and forth to Germany countless times, viewed eight houses, had a mortgage consultation in German, bought a guesthouse, then decided against it because the building inspection wasn't good. Meanwhile, we kept returning to Zeeland: Zoutelande, Domburg, Oostkapelle, Westkapelle. After a viewing in Germany and a year and a half later, we took the plunge. We called an estate agent and said we wanted to sell our house! No sooner said than done. But now what? We did the open house route and also visited this beautiful house! Although the house felt right, we weren't convinced yet. The house did offer everything in terms of space and potential for the holiday studio. Then we were told about Dishoek beach! And man, oh man, this is the most beautiful beach in Zeeland. We warmly welcome you!
