The accommodations are basic yet comfortable, featuring eco-friendly amenities powered by wind turbines, solar panels, and a diesel generator. Life here is intertwined with the natural surroundings, so be prepared for the occasional challenges that come with living close to nature—rain, wind, insects, and more are all part of the experience.
Derek’s Place operates without traditional Wi-Fi, but internet access is available through Claro’s SIM cards, which can be purchased onsite for a small additional fee. The atmosphere is relaxed and family-run, where we strive to make every guest feel welcome and comfortable. However, this experience requires a spirit of adventure and openness to embrace the slower, simpler pace of life on Little Corn Island. “It’s a bit of a hike to get there and it’s more Robinson Crusoe than Sandals but if you don’t mind roughing it a bit it’s a nice tropical getaway. Watching full moon rise over the ocean was magical. The island is very undeveloped which is great....”
