Yin and Ken founded Sojourn Beds & Cafe guesthouse in 2014 when there were no other guesthouses in Taiping. Miss Yin was born in Taiping to a Malaysian-Chinese family and loves her home town. Mr Ken was born in London, but lived most of his life in Australia before adopting Malaysia as his new home. Yin and Ken are more than happy to share their insider tips to make sure that you get the most out of your stay in Taiping.

Sojourn Beds & Cafe guesthouse is situated in the very heart of Taiping, in a typical and classic renovated 1930’s shophouse. We offer our guests comfortable and cozy accommodation, with spacious lounges to chill out and socialise with other travellers.
Enjoy a slow and leisurely morning in our downstairs cafe with inside and outside seating, whilst enjoying complimentary 24/7 coffee & tea. Upstairs, you can enjoy two lounges and our garden terrace.
We have 8 dorm beds and 4 private rooms, all with shared bathrooms. We take pride in keeping our guesthouse spotlessly clean for our guests.

Our guesthouse is adjacent to the major sights, tourist office/clock tower, banks, money changer, post office, and day and night food court. The train station is 1.4km (a 19-minute walk) and the town bus station is 900m (a 12-minute walk) away. A perfect location for exploring beautiful Taiping!
From 1st January 2023, a tourist tax of RM 10 per room per night is applied to all foreign guests. This tax is not included in the room rate and must be paid upon check-in. Guests with a valid Malaysian Identity Card or valid permanent residents MY PR Card are exempted. Please note that this property is a non-smoking property. Guests can use the designated smoking areas on the terrace or at the front entrance only.
