In the center of the wide, orange-blossom shaded courtyard sits one of the biggest pools in the Medina. Tiled with dark black stone laced with red and orange, quarried deep in the Atlas Mountains. Shaded by citrus trees and bougainvilleas and the high, vine covered walls of the Riad itself. Have a swim. The luxurious plants that edge the black stone pool make it feel like a mountain grotto. Afterwards relax on cushions shaded by dark green leafy trees or sunbathe on cushions specially laid out for maximum sun worship. Have a glass of wine, a beer, or a cocktail, since Riad Roxanne has the right to serve alcohol - relatively rare in the Medina. Then find your way to one of the tables that surround the pool and courtyard. Listen to the burble of the fountain as you eat a Tagine prepared by our 5 star chef. Afterwards visit our hammam or our massage room or rooftop terrace. Watch the Atlas Mountains turn pink then a deep orange as the sun sets while you finish your glass of chilled wine.

Come to Bab Aylan if you want to experience the real Marrakech. Close enough to the Souk that it is a short ten minute walk from the bustling markets. Far enough from the tourists that you can escape the chaos and noise. Authentic enough that you can return home knowing you “saw behind the curtain”. It is one of the very oldest neighborhoods of the Medina, the old city. The gate itself was the site of one of the most famous battles in Moroccan history. There is a large parking lot just five minute walk from Riad Roxanne and street parking even closer. We have a golf cart that picks you and your luggage up at Bab Aylan gate. And we can call you a taxi at any time because Riad Roxanne is one of the rare Riads with easy taxi access. The Souk is just a ten minute walk away. Jemaa el-Fnaa Square a fifteen minute walk. Airport twenty minute drive. Almost everything else, Bahia Palace, The Secret Garden, Koutoubia Mosque, El Badi Palace, Dar el Bacha, Dar si Said, Medersa Ben Youssef, The Tanneries, The Mellah, Yves Saint Laurent Majorelle Garden, are almost all within a 10-20 minute walk.
