About Your Host I’m R.D.A. Wijithasiri, a 61-year-old retired government officer, and together with my wife - our talented cook we welcome guests to Ceylon Shine Guesthouse. Hosting allows us to share the beauty, culture, and flavors of Sri Lanka while helping travelers feel at ease and excited about their stay. My wife loves preparing authentic Sri Lankan meals, and I enjoy greeting guests, offering tips, and creating a friendly, warm atmosphere. In my free time, I enjoy gardening, exploring nature, and learning new ways to make our guests’ stay memorable. At Ceylon Shine, we aim to offer not just a place to stay, but an experience filled with good food, laughter, and lasting memories.

Ceylon Shine Guesthouse is located in Buwalikada, just a 10-minute walk (about 800 meters) to Kandy town via a convenient shortcut. The Aylaperuma Filling Station nearby serves as a handy landmark for directions. Nearby Attractions: Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic & Wax Museum – Around 2 km from the guesthouse, this UNESCO World Heritage Site houses the revered Buddha tooth relic, and the adjacent wax museum showcases important historical figures and events from Sri Lanka’s past. Kandy City Centre (KCC) Mall – About 1.1 km away, offering shopping, dining, and entertainment options. Kandy Lake – A scenic spot near the temple, perfect for leisurely walks.
