Blue Kite Retreat, nestled away in the tranquil seaside village of Kalpitiya, is a dreamy haven where luxury and exploration coexist. This lovely four-bedroom property was purchased in 2023 and has been painstakingly repaired to become our treasured vacation bungalow as well as a warm hideaway for visitors. Blue Kite is conveniently situated approximately 140 kilometers from Bandaranaike International Airport (CMB), which is roughly a two-hour and forty-five-minute drive away. With an oversized swimming pool, lush surroundings, and thoughtfully designed interiors, our bungalow is more than a destination—it’s a place to create memories. As a family-operated retreat, we are dedicated to providing a warm, home-like atmosphere for our guests. A Legacy of Music and Hospitality Renowned blues guitarist Glenn Terry and his partner Carolyn had originally envisioned this villa as the center of their hospitality and artistic aspirations. In addition to his melodies, Glenn, whose music moved many, left behind this lovely sanctuary. Constructed with affection and creativity, the property thrived as ‘’Blue Kite’’ under their care until Glenn’s tragic passing away in 2016. We started restoring this cherished retreat in 2023 and rebranded it as Blue Kite Retreat. It now serves as both a warm haven for tourists and our treasured holiday home.
