The neighbourhood where the guest house is located is a very quiet residential area. Just a 5 minute walk away you have the main strip which consists of restaurants, bars, hotels, souvenir shops & the beach where there is a park for children, you can take boat & catamaran trips or just stroll the beach & watch the many catamarans going about their daily work of fish/prawn catching, at certain times of the day the boats will haul in the nets of fish onto the beach & will gladly accept a helping hand. There is a diving centre & a centre where wind surfers & kite surfers can be hired. Some hotels have daily volley ball matches & tourists can also join in. Bicycles & motor scooters can be hired daily or for longer periods.
Going south in Negombo Town there are many shops, official money changers, the local fish market, the long range fish market which is better seen very early morning, the old fort, the small dutch church, many temples, Hindu & Buddhist, & many churches, the lagoon & dutch canal, the Saturday night bazaar & Sunday Market.
