Hello, we're Debra and Mervin "Keep Cool". We're avid travelers, and have traveled throughout North American and the Caribbean, and have visited countries in Central and South America, Europe, Polynesia and Asia. These experiences help guide us when we decided to build the guesthouse. We want to offer a place that has what we consider to be the essentials to a comfortable trip away from home at a cost that still leaves enough to enjoy the sites and activities of the destination.

The Keep Cool Guesthouse is nestled in the hills of the upper-middle class neighborhood Beausejour of Gros Islet. We offer three self-catering studios on the top floor and a two-bedroom/two bathroom apartment on the back garden level as accessible alternatives to resort suites. We've taken extra measures to furnish our spaces with the most popular amenities found at high-end vacation rentals. Generally, the neighborhood is a very peaceful location to relax throughout the day, but on occasion music or sounds from a live event at the cricket stadium can be heard. We're just about a five minute walk to the Daren Sammy cricket stadium, a three minute drive to the Rodney Bay Marina and the food truck villages, and five minutes to Rodney Bay, Gros Islet, or Pigeon Point. Three different beaches, and the popular Pigeon Point National Park can be quickly reached in a ten minute drive.

Only registered guests are allowed in the guesthouse (guest's may not have visitors). Depending upon a guest's activities, a combination of taxi, walking, and bus would fulfill their transportation needs. The guesthouse is located on a hillside, and although not required having a vehicle would be convenient. The guesthouse can provide contact information for preferred taxi drivers. For those who are comfortable with a little bit of walking, it is only a 15 minute walk (there are some areas with hills) to the highway/main road where you may catch the local bus. The walkway from the street to the guesthouse is on a slope, and may not be suitable for those with mobility challenges. We advise all guests to not wear shoes with high heels, slick soles or that have a loose fit. There are chickens and roosters freely roaming the neighborhood, and can be heard clucking and crowing. Dogs may also bark.
